After you have created a competition and assigned teams, you can create or upload a Draw in the Draw Builder tab.

Draft draws that have been saved but NOT published will show below. Once a Draw has been published, it can be managed from the Matches tab.

Once published, it may take up to 30 minutes for your Draw to be live on PlayRugbyLeague.com.

If you want to work on your Draw after it is published, but you don't want it visible publicly, set your Display Options in Competition settings to "NO".

You can also set Exception Dates, which are specific dates that can be excluded when creating your draw.

Draw Builder can be found under the Competition Management tab in MySideline Admin.  The below steps assume you are already on the Draw Builder page.

NOTE: if a Draw already exists for the Competition, use the Redo Draw function on the MySideline Admin Matches tab.

+ CREATE DRAW

Step 1 - Click the + CREATE DRAW button.

Step 2 - From the drop-down menu, select the Competition you are creating a Draw for.

Step 3 - You can drag and drop the Teams in the Teams column to change the seeding, which will rearrange Matches in the fixture template (see the Draw column).

NOTE: On the next screens you can manually change Match details/Venues etc.

Once seedings are correct, scroll down and click NEXT.

Step 3 - Select a Final Template (optional).  If your competition has Finals, you can select a template to use with the Automate Finals Fixture feature.

Step 4 - Exception Dates - if you have created Exception Dates, they will appear here for you to select (or not) to apply to your Competition.  You can also edit the dates specific to your Competition.

NOTE: there is currently an issue when applying exception dates to Pools Competition.  You may need to manually apply.

Step 5 - Round Start Dates - set the dates that each round will start.  They will be prefilled based on your Competition settings and selected Exception Dates, but can be manually changed here.

Check the Regular and Finals Rounds Dates.

To update - click into the Round Start Date field and enter the first date of play for the Round, or select from the calendar.

Scroll down and click NEXT when ready to continue.

Step 6 - Edit Draw - You can now manually edit the Draw before you publish it.

NOTE: you can save as a draft and return to edit and publish.

If you will be working on your Draw, it is recommended to SAVE it periodically.

To edit, click into a field and:

  • Home/Away Team - all Teams that have been allocated to this Competition will appear in the drop down.  Select the Team you wish to be in a Match.
  • Date & Time
    • Enter the Date in DD/MM/YYYY format or select from the calendar pop up.
    • Enter the Time in HH:MM in 24 format or select from the pop up.  E.g. 6:00pm would 18:00.
  • Venue - Venues for the Home Team will pre-populate to what is listed as the venue in the 'My Club' menu in the venue field, but you can also type into the field to search for other Venues in the dropdown menu.
  • Field No - if there is a specific field number, enter it here.  E.g. 1, or 3b.

Step 7 - Are you ready to publish this Draw?

  • YES - the Draw is correct and I have checked the Display Settings for this Competition.  Click PUBLISH.
  • NO - I'm still working on it!  Make sure to click the SAVE button and you can find it again in the Draw Builder tab, and publish when you're ready.
  • MAYBE? - if you're not 100% sure, but still want to publish so you can see the Draw in the Matches tab, set your Competition Display Settings to Public = NO before publishing your Draw (ensure to SAVE before exiting the screen!).  The Display Settings will then need to be updated for the Draw to be seen in the online Match Centre.

Remember: you MUST publish the Draw for it to show in the Matches tab.
